BackgroundPatricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo, Spain. Some of her most famous work includes her lamps for Foscarini. She studied at the Faculdad de Arquitectura de Madrid and later at the Milan Polytechnic University, where she graduated in 1989.
In 1991 she started working for Italian furniture company De Padova in Milan, where she designed her first furniture. From 1993 to 1996 she ran a small studio with two friends, where they designed architecture, interiors, showrooms and restaurants.
In 2001 she opened her own studio in Milan, which focused on product design, displays and architecture.
She has received numerous awards over the years and has worked for many different companies including De Padova, Moroso, Agape, B & B, Alessi, Driade, Foscarini,
Kartell,
Flos, Molteni, Artelano and many more.
