"Danish designer Øivind Slaatto (born 1978) is widely recognised for his simple and poetic solutions. For Slaatto, nature is the main source of inspiration. From here he seeks to transfer qualities such as rationality, logic and, not least, harmony into his designs.

Slaatto is a graduate of the Danish School of Design and also holds a degree in music from the Royal Danish Academy of Music. His understanding of music is reflected throughout his approach to the design process: Slaatto wants his designs to feel simple and light, like a piece of music being played. He understands that practice makes perfect and constantly seeks to refine his solutions.
Slaatto's field of work ranges widely - from speakers and cars to furniture and lamps. Developing lighting solutions is both a speciality and a passion for the designer, who has a natural sensitivity to light and therefore seeks to optimise the experience of light and atmosphere.

"Patera was launched in the white version in 2015 as a reinterpretation of the classic chandelier with soft and dynamic lighting. Patera Silver, launched in 2019, is made of reflective silver-coloured foil that creates a playful and contrasting light. Patera's glare-free 360-degree lighting is the result of an elaborate design with cells in different positions that give rooms, people and objects a natural, uniform and flattering light. The shape is inspired by the so-called Fibonacci sequence, which creates a new and beautiful impression from all angles.
The sophisticated and bold reinterpretation of the chandelier works wonderfully in both modern and more classic interiors. A single Patera in silver will create a luminous centrepiece in the room.
