Design meets cosmos in Elara Pendant from Italian Lodes

Inspired by the wondrous universe of planetary orbits and interacting celestial bodies, Slovenian industrial designer Nika Zupanc has taken her latest lamp design to new cosmic heights. With its beautiful union of rings and spheres, the Elara Pendant creates a harmonious whole and completes the astral theme with its floating structure that occupies the interior space with the same effortless grace as moons and planets in outer space. Since graduating from the Ljubljana School of Design in 2000, Zupanc has designed beautiful and well-crafted creations for a wide range of companies, including Italian lighting manufacturer Lodes, which has more than 70 years of lighting experience behind it. Elara is both a mistress of Zeus in Greek mythology and the eighth largest moon of Jupiter in astronomy. The name fits perfectly with the astral theme that characterizes every detail of the Elara Pendant's design. This is expressed through the thin and perfectly regular metal rings that form a beautiful overlap in the center of the lamp. The lower point of the vertical ring is fitted with a spherical element - like a planet in its orbit. The sphere holds the lamp's light source in the form of a built-in LED module with an efficient energy conversion that ensures a clear and direct light. The sphere has a light output at each end, allowing the light to flow out in a dual glow with a warm glow that can easily illuminate the entire room. When the lamp's uplight hits the horizontal ring, a beautiful shadow pattern is created that is magnified on the walls of the room, adding a unique aspect to the light quality of this lamp. The horizontal ring can be adjusted in different positions, allowing you to experiment with different looks and change the overall appearance of the lamp. This also allows you to adjust the shadow pattern when the lamp is on, giving both lamp and light pattern a personalized look.
